Additional Info

Terroir Area Information: Terroir: Uji, Kyoto, Japan Elevation: 13 m above sea level Tea Garden: One of the leading matcha farmers in Uji Declarations of Inferences and Presumptions: Pack size: 20 g, settled against the shop's own unit price — the capture shows €1,495.00 / 1kg beside SKU 5528-bio, and €29.90 ÷ 20 g is exactly that (30 g would be €997). The page's title and structured description say 30 g and are stale; its buy box and product blurb both say 20 g. Producer: Furukawa Seicha, Gokasho, Uji — run by Yoshitsugu and Mizuho Furukawa. Identified from the page's own farm description (two-layer tana shading for 32 to 40 days, hand-picked first flush, shizen-jitate, granite mills, rapeseed oil cake and fish meal as fertiliser, and the cultivars Samidori, Ujihikari, and Saemidori) matched to the producer's own site and to a retailer publishing the same specification with the name attached. The vendor itself never names them. Farm/Producer Awards: the vendor claims first place in the national Tencha class and a Kyoto prefectural first place. The 69th National Tea Competition results table lists Furukawa Yoshitsugu and Furukawa Mizuho in the third grade for tencha, so the first-place claim is the vendor's and is not supported by the competition record. It is recorded here rather than as a stated award.
